“For Young
People, With Young People, By
Young People”
During the current Rotary Year, we
have been very successful in breaking new ground, and to some extent we need to have a period of consolidation in the months ahead. However, there are a few new ideas that we would like to develop
whilst taking into consideration the fore-mentioned motto.
1. R.Y.L.A.We
have supported R.Y.L.A. candidates in the past.Talk to your school OR
contact the web site/Club for details of 2017 activities
2.
Music Festival.
The Rotary Club of Wednesbury supported this event in 2017.
3. Interact. With the chartering of three Interact Clubs at Wood Green High School and Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School, and Wodensborough Ormiston Academy, we continue to support these Clubs and ensure they go from strength to strength in building their membership and carrying out their projects.
Stuart Bathurst Interact Club have hosted Christmas lunch for residents of local care and nursing homes. The cost of the lunch was met by raising money
from various schemes namely;
Car Washing, Asian Food Day, Bag Packing,
Bake a Cake Sale, Crazy Tie & Tights day
4. Joe Clews Award.
Each of the Senior Schools were again requested to select a worthy recipient of this award. The winners were invited
to our regular meeting in
March 2017 to receive their
certificates and cheques.
5. Young Chef. We will try again to find a candidate to
represent us in the District Competition.
6. Sandwell Young Carers
Regular contact is made with the
Adults to see how we can help.
